The turn around from first contact to receiving the report was just a couple weeks; they had contacted the EA within an hour of me confirming instruction! Telephone calls picked up with no delay, and my questions were answered in lay terms.

This is the second time I’ve used Peter for a home survey, and I cannot recommend him highly enough! Peters communication is fantastic, the survey was arrange quickly and the report was provided soon after. I would definitely recommend the company to anyone looking for a home survey.

As first-time buyers, our first house is a large four-bedroom property dating from the 1900s. Given its age and size, we felt that an in-depth survey was the best way to proceed.

We initially tried contacting several surveyors, but Peter from Bennett Morgan was the only one we managed to get a response from. After a quick phone conversation explaining how to book online, the ball was rolling. The survey was carried out within a week, and just a few days later we had the full report back.

I was really impressed by the sheer level of detail in the report. It included potential remedial actions for some of the issues identified, gave us reassurance that things we had noticed ourselves were signs of historic rather than active movement in the walls, and we also had the confidence of knowing we could contact Peter if we had any further questions.

One thing that really set Peter apart from the survey experiences of friends and family was the way the report was written. I had been warned by several people that surveys can point out absolutely everything and leave you with the impression that the whole house is going to collapse if you so much as sneeze near it!

What I really appreciated about Peter’s report was that, while issues were clearly identified, they were also put into context. In some cases, the explanation was essentially that the issue was normal and expected for a property of this age. It wasn’t simply a doom-and-gloom list of every possible fault; it was a professional, balanced and calm assessment of the property, which was particularly reassuring as first-time buyers.

If I need a surveyor again in the future, I will definitely use Peter, and I would happily recommend him to friends and family.

I’ve seen that most of the reviews above are positive, but I wanted to share my own experience.

About one week ago, I was contacted by Bennett Morgan regarding a Level 2 survey. I was assigned to one of the surveyors, Peter. He asked me to go through his website, where I placed an order and made an online payment of £550.

After making the payment, I didn’t receive any confirmation or further communication from him. I contacted him to ask why I hadn’t received a response. He told me that he had not received the payment and therefore could not carry out the survey.

I accepted what he said and contacted my bank, HSBC, to check the transaction. Their customer service team investigated it and told me that the payment had been successfully processed and that the funds had been credited to the recipient’s account. The bank also provided me with the transaction details.

I contacted Peter again and tried to provide the transaction information so that we could resolve the issue. Unfortunately, he did not answer my calls. I then called from another number, and he answered, but I still felt that he was unwilling to discuss the matter or spend even a few minutes trying to resolve the situation.

I have now reported the matter to my bank and provided them with all the relevant information. Their investigation is currently in progress.

This is my personal experience, and based on what happened, I would not recommend using this particular surveyor, Peter, based on my experience with the payment and communication.
